R8 Program – Step #2 – RE-MOTIVATE
The most recent economic downturn has caused many to worry about their jobs. Fellow associates being let-go, divisions shut down, down sizing, the elimination of corporate expenses have all played an important part in de-motivating employees.
Couple this with low production orders, loss of sales, and its easy to see why the average office is not performing to capacity.
Today is the best time to pursue new sales! Unfortunately morale is low, from the top to the bottom.
Gather ALL your employees. Spend a full day and let them know why you started the company (Re-FOCUS) and that you are totally prepared with this team to go out and build the company!
Give people specific roles. Define a year long strategy for growth. Discuss new markets, potential new customers, cost saving initiatives, etc. Involve them! Let them know that they are secure in their position but you need them to interact more than ever before! Let them put together a plan, the way they see it.
Then, spend the time with each person, review their game plan and make sure it fits within the overall plan. Then determine milestones so that everyone knows monthly where they stand to plan vs. waiting till year end.
Once you have met with everyone, then you put together the master plan, present it and this way you will have 110% buy-in because they were involved in creating it. This alone will ensure that they will do what-ever it takes to reach their milestones.
Over the last 6 months we have gone through this exercise numerous times. Each and every time there was a renewed sense of hope! The employee’s belief to succeed was at an all time high!
